A Date with Death: Networking with a Difference
Date: 17 October 2013
Venue: University of the West of England, Bristol
Time: 17.00 – 19.30 (tbc)
- Want to find out more about aspects of death, dying, disposal and bereavement you never knew existed?
- Looking to find new research partners?
- Want to broaden your knowledge or link in with local stakeholders?
Then a Date with Death could be for you.
This research networking evening will enable you to meet others working in the areas of death and dying in the South West. Academics, practitioners and professionals are equally welcome, and we encourage everyone to come with an open mind and a stack of business cards. The main focus of the evening will be research and relationships; we will ask everyone to provide a short summary of their work and a photo in advance so that attendees can plan ahead, and name badges will have key words as well as affiliations so that you can see at a glance whose interests may align with yours.
CDAS are experienced in bringing together academics from different fields and connecting businesses and charities with professionals and practitioners. This evening will provide the perfect opportunity to present your work to a range of people you would not normally meet, and will open a number of doors for future practice.
We already have expressions of interest from computer scientists, funeral directors, historians, probate specialists, gerontologists, hospice workers and sociologists. If you would like to join them, please get in touch with your name, job, organisation and area of interest.
